About Us
The Centre for Black Development Options Canada (CBDOC ) is designed to offer unparalleled opportunities to work directly with Black Migrants and Refugees in Ontario – Canada.
CBDOC works to address the most critical issues facing Black Migrants and Refugees in Ontario by enhancing their knowledge and understanding.
Through conducting in-depth research and analysis, media engagements, public discussion, working groups, and briefings, we bring together policymakers, practitioners, and subject matter experts to analyze and offer practical and meaningful development solutions to key challenges affecting Black immigrants and Refugees.
Throughout this Black-led initiative, our members are trained in key public policy topics, advocacy, and policy research as a way of enhancing their knowledge and understanding.
Ultimately, they are better equipped with relevant tools to enable them to contribute to ongoing advocacy and policy-making efforts in addition to undertaking path-breaking research and work in the field. CBDOC members also have exposure engagements with key partners and collaborators, which includes IRRCC, IRB, Ontario Works, UN agencies, nonprofit organizations, and the relevant state agencies in the field of immigration and social services sector.
